 | Volunteer
leaders work in every sphere of Scouting - training, programme-planning, administration
and fund-raising, supported by a handful of professional staff. The high quality
of volunteers' leadership and enthusiam is the driving force of the Movement. |
 | Men
and women over 20 years of age can be a leader, and their assistants are aged
over 18. All leaders must complete the General Information Course (2 days) as
pre-required, and take various courses, formal and informal, arranged for their
particular assignments. Sectional leaders are obliged to complete the sectional
Wood Badge Basic Training Course (4 days), and go up to the sectional Woodbadge
Advanced Training Course (7 days). Group Committee Chairman and members, and Commissioners
have their own Training Courses (4 days each). For Trainers, there are Courses
for Assistant Leader Tainers and Courses for Leader Trainers (5 days each). All
formal courses are conducted by National and Prefectural Training Teams. In accordance
with world and national training policy, other opportunities are arranged to motivate
self-training of all leaders. these include District Round-table Conferences for
Unit Leaders, Commissioners' Meetings at all levels, Trainers' workshops and prefectural
Secretaries' Meetings. |  |
